2 Gang Adapter Plates are necessary if you need to attach any pattresses, except Single Pattresses (i.e. Double, Triple or Quadruple Pattresses. Single Pattresses are too small to be mounted over 2 gang wall boxes) to a standard2 gang (double) wall box.
